Hot & cold

I have always wanted to travel around the world, but I think that it wouldn't happen this year, so the closest journey that I can take is here, my country.

One of the reasons why people tend to travel out the country, is because usually, it's cheaper than tourist in Chile, but. It's worth it?

Tha advantage of this country, is that its shape (long and thin) allow to have a lot of climates in it, from the dryest desert in the world, to landscapes with heavenly waters in the south. 

My family lives near to Bahia Inglesa in the north, so thats the farthest I know. To the south, I have only arrived until Puerto Montt, so I would like to know the southern zone; Coyhaique, Punta Arenas, etc. The problem, how i said before, is too expensive being a tourist, so the only would be backpacking there. The idea, is to not to go alone, so it will be ideal to go with someone close to me.

If this doesn't work, the easiest option would be go the beach, wich is too probable that happens, especially beacause the last year with my familiy we didn't go anywhere for vacations, so this year we have to go somewhere. It's probably that we go to Caldera (where lives my family), next to bahia Inglesa.

If nothing of the previous things that I said happens, I will melt in my room for the entire summer.

Flying dog

Once I had arrived at my house after an exhausting day playing a football cup, I fell asleep in the couch of my living room. In the dream I had, I was walking through an abandoned village of WW2. After touring it, I decided to enter to one of the houses, and while I was climbing the stairs, I fall to the void, and I “woke up”.

I got up, and went to my backyard, and there was a familiar dinner, so I went to sit, and from nothing, I saw my dog with wings, flying like a mythological being, I was like: ok. I tried to continue with the dream, but it caused me a lot of curiosity (because I knew I were dreaming). I was talking with my aunt in the middle of the dinner, when my dog appears with a bag in his mouth, I opened it and a flash blinded me. Then I “woke up”.

I was there, again in the living of my house. I had been sleeping a lot of time, so I decided to do something productive, the problem was that when I tried to stand up, I couldn´t move. So, I was there, a lot of time seeing what was surrounding me without the possibility to do something. After a time, my body started to respond, until I stood up, and went to the bathroom. Once I was there, I saw my face in the mirror, and it looked like a demon. I started screaming and woke up.

Again, in the living of my house, this time I had really woke up.

The mother earth

One of the things that I considered when I was seeing what career study, is that I would like to work in a job that brings me the opportunity to travel a lot, so geography was a good option. Also, it´s related with the fact that many times the reason of the travel is that you must be in the terrain that you are studying to see how the phenomena’s that are investigated, manifest in space.

I wouldn´t like to be working caged in an office, maybe it´s because I hate the routine (and being sit), so it would be awesome to work outdoors, the nature relaxes me and make me feel peaceful, something that is hard to find in a job nowadays, with all the stress that is lived day by day.

Many times I thought about the salary that I will have if I decide to be a geographer, but I preferred to choose something that I like, before of being working in something that I don´t like, In fact, I was many years at school thinking that I would be engineer or something related.

Once I become a geographer, perhaps I decide to continue studying, but lets see what happens first.

Mr Wallace

Once i was in the winter holidays doing nothing with my life, so waht better that watch a movie, the problem was. What movie?  I had friend that always told me to see a Tarantino movie, the only one that i had seen of him was Kill Bill, and it was good, so. Why not?

The movie i saw was Pulp Fiction and it´s in my opinion one of the best movies that I had saw. Even though it don´t have so many effects and don´t look like a movie with a lot of monetary inversion, it look so good thanks to the camera work, and of course, the dialogs and the story behind.

The plot it´s not defined until the end of the movie, in that moment you know what was happening through the film. The protagonists are two guys that work for Mr Wallace (a sort of gangster), Mr Wallace´s wife and a boxer that once betrayed Mr Wallace, so the film it´s about how all this persons interact with each other in a lot of crazy situations. For example, once one of the guys that work with Wallace had to take care of his wife, so to entertain her they go out to a restaurant. Someway for the things of the destiny she had a overdose and he don´t know what to do (you have to see it).

In conclusion this is a great movie, and it led me to another Tarantino movies like Inglorious Bastards, Django Unchained, Reservoir dogs and many others. The films of this director in my opinion are all good, so this is a "must watch film".

The wait was worth

One of my best experiences about concerts was one in 2018, when i went to Lollapalloza with my sister. Those days, I saw a lot of artists, but especially, i went to see one of them, The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I went to see them on 2014, but the played really bad and the loudspeakers in some places were not working, so this time, it had to be good.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are a funk/rock band from California, created in the begining of the 80's, but being the period between the 90´s and the 00´s their best era.

With respect to the concert, it was awesome, the people once the band rise on stage went out of control, jumping around and singing all the songs of the band. I really enjoyed the concert, the band was on point in all aspects and played like they did in the 00´s, a really good memory.

Everything in general was fine, apart of the end of the concert. The band closed that day of the festival, so when it finished, all the pepople had to go home, the problem was that there were like 40.000 persons trying to find a way to go home, the metro station looked like the Titanic (when the people tryed to get on the boats), and the best part, is that the station that day was closing at 00:30. Fortunately, i get to one of the wagons, and arrived home.

For someone that lives in Latinamerica, the difference that can be made with other countries is striking, both because of the geographical conditions they may have, and because of the “development” that these can have. One of the countries that calls my atention is Switzerland.

One of the things that stand out in this country respect to its enviroment are the mountains, that highlight in the background of every tourist postcard that you can see ( the Swiss Alps for example), accompanied by wonderful Green landscapes, with lakes so pure that they look like “photoshopped”.

With regard to its development as a country, its striking that such a small country manages to organize itself in such a good way, becoming an “ideal” place for many people. They are the fourth richest country in the world, with a population of only 8.500.000 people. They were the happiest country in the world in 2015, thanks to all the conditions they have, like good medical care, good governance, health and income, tasty chocolates (who isn´t happy with this), among others.

In summary, Switzerland is a good place to live, also to visit, as long as you have enough money, beacuse is one of the most expensive countries to go.
